EDUCATION AND RESEARCH
EAVPT aims to promote education and research in the fields of veterinary pharmacology and toxicology. It achieves these aims through organizing congresses, workshops, symposia or other scientific and educational meetings. In addition, EAVPT enhances the exchange of education materials, ideas and teachers between veterinary institutes.
COMMITTEES OF EXPERTS
EAVPT organizes committees of experts to make recommendations on current problems in veterinary pharmacology, toxicology and therapeutics, including concerns in relation to human and environmental health. EAVPT has members from around the world and hosts an international congress every 3 years – with the next congress planned for 2026 – more.

Building Our Foundations, Shaping the Future
A Cutting-Edge Scientific Program
The EAVPT 2026 Congress is dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge developments in veterinary science, with a particular emphasis on transformative technologies and emerging trends in veterinary therapeutics. The program will further cover a broad range of topics, spanning fundamental and applied research in pharmacology, toxicology, and all areas of clinical pharmacology.
The program features a dynamic lineup of innovative sessions, including:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Veterinary Medicine
To explore transformative impact of AI on diagnostics, treatment planning, and therapeutic management, delivering unprecedented precision and efficiency in veterinary care. - Next-Generation Therapeutics: Gene and Cell Therapies
To showcase pioneering developments in gene and cell-based therapies, opening new frontiers for treating both companion and livestock animals. - Innovative Alternatives to Live Animal Testing
To discuss how state-of-the-art approaches - including in vitro models, in silico simulations, and population PK/PD studies - may replace live animal testing in preclinical efficacy and safety assessments. - Core Areas in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology
Topics include genetic influences on drug response, strategies for monitoring and optimizing therapy, drug resistance, global health and emerging infectious threats, environmental impacts on animal health, and innovative biomarkers for safety and efficacy assessment.

EAVPT RESEARCH
Our scientific community is engaged in a broad spectrum of research in the basic and clinical aspects of veterinary pharmacology and toxicology employing in vitro, in vivo, ex vivo or in silico models
EAVPT officially supports the Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics (JVPT) as our primary arena for exchange of thoughts and publication of research. The books of abstracts of the EAVPT Congresses are traditionally published as JVPT supplements.
